This stair railing project took a late-90s build and transformed it into something more modern, clean-lined, and context-appropriate for the home. I worked closely with the homeowners to understand their aesthetic preferences, and from there, we built the entire system from scratch—no off-the-shelf packages, no pre-cut kits. Every part of the project was custom, from the newel post trim wraps and post caps to the layout and stain selection. The iron spindle style and pattern were chosen by the clients, and the final result is a railing that fits the room perfectly—functionally, visually, and architecturally—while honoring their vision.
